Rating 5/10I was very excited to read The Replacement and I think this might have been a mistake on my part. Don’t get me wrong it was a good book, it just didn’t blow me away.I found myself waiting for things to really start and to start feeling for the characters, but it never happened. Mackie is a interesting character and the world he lives in I found unique and different. Then why didn’t it grab me? I have no idea. All I know is that I was mildly bored most of the time.All of this aside though the novel was dark and something entirely different. You also had a love interest that was not helpless and actually fought for what she wanted! And enter Roswell the best friend that everyone should have! He didn’t ask questions, he only helped Mackie when he could and was there for him no matter what!So all in all a good enough read that leaves me with a questions.
